1. Who we are

BigStudio is operated by Bigfoot-IT Consulting (Pty) Ltd, a South African company ("Bigfoot-IT", "we", "us"). We are the responsible party for personal information processed through the BigStudio mobile apps and web portal, in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work:

• Account details — your name, email address, phone number and your role (customer, artist or studio manager).
• Studio and business information — for studios: profile, branding, services, pricing, stock and financial records.
• Bookings and activity — booking requests, statuses, reschedules, session records, and chat messages and photos shared within a booking.
• Payments — wallet top-ups, deposits and session payments. Payments are processed by Peach Payments; we never see or store your full card number.
• Location — approximate location, only if you allow it, to show studios near you. The apps work without it via manual search.
• Device and notification tokens — push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service) so you receive booking and chat notifications.
• Technical logs — basic security and reliability logs such as sign-in events and error reports.

3. How we use it

We use this information to provide and operate the service: creating and managing bookings, enabling chat between customers and studios, processing payments, sending notifications, securing accounts, providing support and meeting legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who we share it with

• The studio you book with — your name and booking details are visible to that studio so they can serve you.
• Peach Payments — to process payments, under their own privacy policy.
• Google Firebase and Apple — to deliver push notifications and run core infrastructure.
• Hosting and operations providers — bound by confidentiality, only to the extent required.
• Authorities — where disclosure is required by law.

5. Storage and retention

Information is stored on secured servers with access limited to authorised personnel. We keep your information while your account is active, and for as long as law requires afterwards (for example, financial records). You can ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time.

6. Your rights

Under POPIA (and, where applicable, the GDPR) you may:

• ask what personal information we hold about you;
• have it corrected or deleted;
• object to or restrict certain processing; and
• complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

7. Children

BigStudio is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Cookies

The web portal uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will notify you in the apps or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the updated policy.
